In March of 2021, Illinois Fence Company installed over 150 feet of vinyl fence in Orland Park, IL. One of the homeowner's worries was that the white vinyl would be too bright, so they decided to go with an almond color vinyl, which looks gorgeous with their house. They also wanted some privacy, but they didn't want to block out their neighbors completely, so they decided to go with the semi-private fence.
The Illinois fence crew was able to install the vinyl fence in one day! There was no existing fence to take down during the fence installation, which helped, but they removed all the dirt. The fence you see in the photos and video is 5 feet tall, with a middle 2x4 for extra support. Also, two gates were installed, one in the front and one in the back, for easy access for the kids to play with the neighbor kids. One of the excellent features of the gates is that they are easily accessible from inside and outside the fence. The latch goes through, but you can also put a padlock on the inside, perfect for security.
As noted before, you get some privacy, but you don't completely block out the view or the friendly neighbors. Since there is space between the pickets, the wind goes right through, so there isn't so much stress on the fence during windy days! When it comes to a vinyl semi-private design, you can choose between 4 feet, 5 feet, or 6 feet. You could also choose between white, almond, or khaki vinyl fences.
At Illinois Fence Company, all vinyl fences that we fabricate and install are custom made at our shop. If you look closely at the photos, you can see that the vinyl fence has a fitted design. All of the top and bottom rails are custom-fabricated to fit each picket. The 5x5 vinyl posts are routed out, which allows the supporting rails to go inside the posts, ensuring a solid and long-lasting fence. In February 2021, Illinois Fence Company installed a 4-foot vinyl fence in Naperville, IL. As you can see in the photos, there was a lot of snow on the ground! We had to snow blow around the property's perimeter so that the crew could install the fence to grade. The good thing about the snow is that it acts as a blanket, so the ground underneath wasn't frozen! The fence installation crew could dig the holes and set the concrete without any frost issues. The new homeowner was pleased to get their fence installed for their dogs!
It took about two days to install over 351' of vinyl with two gates and dirt removal. The vinyl fence style: 4' Traditional Spaced Picket White Vinyl Fence. You could do this design with a 4-inch or 6-inch picket. And the standard spacing is 2 inches. If you wanted to get a semi-private fence, you could go down to a 1-inch space. The top and bottom rails are 2x6 rails that go inside the posts. You could do 6-foot long or 8-foot long sections. The benefit to 6-foot long sections is more support, thus making the fence stronger.
The vinyl fences that we install in Naperville, IL, and the surrounding suburbs, are custom made at our shop. Illinois Fence Company has vinyl machines that pre-route out the posts and rails for each job, allowing us to work with the homeowner to ensure the fence meets their needs.
What is your fence budget?
Vinyl fences last a long time and are maintenance-free, but that comes with a cost. If your goal is to get the lowest price possible, then a vinyl fence is not for you. There are more affordable options! However, if you're looking for a fence that will last a long time and maintain its look, then a vinyl fence might be a good fit. Knowing your general fence budget will help us direct you in the right direction during the fence estimate.
